Strengthening Partnerships: ORI and Nuffield Health Host Orthopaedic Research Evening for Local Physiotherapists

ORI recently partnered with Nuffield Health Bournemouth Hospital to host a well-attended professional development evening for over 35 local physiotherapists. The event provided a valuable opportunity to share the latest advancements in orthopaedic surgery, rehabilitation, and research. The evening featured expert talks from Professor Robert Middleton and Professor Tom Wainwright who presented findings from recent collaborative research projects and outlined future directions for orthopaedic innovation in Dorset and beyond.

Professor Tom Wainwright commented, “It was great to share the outcomes of our research with the local physiotherapy community. Events like this highlight the value of the ongoing partnership between ORI and Nuffield Health Bournemouth Hospital. We’re excited about the collaborative research already underway, and even more so about what the future holds as we work together to improve outcomes for our local patients and produce high-impact research outputs.”

The evening underscored the importance of collaboration between academic and clinical partners in driving improvements in patient care. ORI is committed to continuing this joint working to support evidence-based practice, strengthen research capacity, and deliver real benefits to the local community.
